“ Nataliya Lukyanova (Kolosov)-

Regarding my alleged russophobia. I'd like to clarify a few things.

I do not think that Putin individually is responsible for the murders.

From the evidence I have - my own experience with Russian friends, my friends' experiences in Russia, data, actual reality - this invasion was coming along regardless of NATO or no NATO. Years of propaganda. Years of superiority over "little brothers". Complacency and turning the blind eye since 2008, then 2014.  It's been coming all along. None of us thought it would start so fast.

Are all people in Russia guilty? No. Not all of them held the guns or dropped the bombs.

Are all of them responsible? Almost. All of those who didn't vote. All of those who stayed silent. Who were "not interested in politics". Who were undecided. Who are attending the pro-war gatherings. Willingly or out of "not leaving the comfort zone".

My friend in Moscow was crying last night saying "The ones I thought were sane have signed the letters supporting the war. They understand but have their own agendas. Their careers. As long as it's not their mum getting bombed, they don't care. I want to meet them, and look in their eyes, and ask" Was it worth it?""

Responsibility sits with all of those who continue their lives as if nothing has happened. Feeling sorry for themselves for not being able to travel or get the next iPhone. Whether they accept it or not is their personal choice.

My friend ended up screaming from her balcony to the people having a party in the house across the road. "There is a war going on. You can't pretend nothing has happened". They switched the lights off.

I feel the same. Screaming from a balcony. It's all I can do, albeit she risks getting reported to the police, and I'm relatively safe.

Yes, we are collecting money for vital supplies and helping refugees. But it won't stop the war.

There are 38 million potential refugees where the first 2.6 million came from.

If we all at least scream from balconies, we might get someone to wake up. To listen. To do something.

Don't stay silent. Don't feel comfortable. Don't feel safe. Because you're not. “
